Ever thought this way when trying to put away your phone to do something productive? Well, you aren’t the only one. All of us wish that we could magically get rid of phone addiction. But hey! You’ve at least recognized the problem and are trying to take measures to rectify it. That’s a great start!

In today’s world, where tech seems to be ever-evolving, Smart Phones are arguably a part and parcel of our daily lives. Its applications are limitless: communication, entertainment, shopping, reading, etc.

Like all other things Smart Phones have their dark side and studies show that we are more inclined to this dark side. But should we blame tech for our lesser productivity?

The key isn’t just to overcome an addiction but to change your habits.

I can proudly say that I’ve overcome this menace. Here are a few takeaways from my journey:

Indulge in a fun productive activity:

This one does work: pick up an old instrument, book, or start brewing up something in the kitchen! You could even start your own blog (like I did πŸ˜› ) or unleash your inner artist.

Try doing a 2-day phone free challenge:

If you can’t do it alone then ask your friends and family to join in too! You’ll feel amazing by the end of it Trust me! You can even ask someone to hide your phone.

Keep your goals in mind and stay motivated:

Set your intentions at the beginning of the day. Plan out your activities and steer clear from laziness. Maybe you could hang up a few motivational posters around your house to keep you going. But remember that if you don’t have the will to change then all external motivation is of no use.

Follow the 1% improvement rule

Take it slow. James Clear in his book- Atomic Habits, talks about how it’s the little things that matter. Are you going to be the person who improves 1% each day or the one who gets worse each day? If you think staying the same is an option – it’s not.

So that’s it for this post! I would love to hear your story too and you should let others know your story too so that they can be motivated to do the right thing! Let me know in the comment section below. Remember that you are not alone in this fight. If you love reading about awesome art, tech, and inspiration stuff then feel free to subscribe!
